Open the NAIC licensee lookup
  1. Open the lookup. Use the button to open the NAIC State Based Systems licensee search. It opens in a new tab so you can keep these steps in view.
  2. Choose your state. Pick it from the Jurisdiction list. For Hawaii, choose Hawaii.
  3. Set the search type. Choose Licensee as the search type and Individual as the entity type.
  4. Enter an NPN or a name. The NPN is the most reliable search. If you search by name and the official record shows a name that differs from the one on this page, use the name exactly as it appears in that record.
  5. Agree to the NAIC terms and search. Check the terms box, then select Search.
  6. Review the details. Open the result to see the license status, license type, and lines of authority your state has on file.

This lookup doesn't offer links to an individual result, so you'll need to enter the search yourself. It usually takes about a minute.

Some states run their own license search instead of this one. Use the NAIC's directory of state insurance departments to find your state's regulator and its agent lookup, then search by NPN or name.

If neither of us is licensed where you live, we'll tell you plainly rather than go further.
